See Louvre Abu Dhabi from the water, not from its galleries: this ticket is for a guided kayak tour only.

Overview

Kayaking around Louvre Abu Dhabi is a one-hour guided activity on the waters surrounding the museum on Saadiyat Island. Instead of walking through galleries, you see the museum-city's pale buildings and remarkable latticed dome from a low viewpoint on the water. An English-speaking guide leads the outing after a paddling and safety briefing, so previous kayaking experience is not required.

The ticket includes a kayak, paddle, padded seat, life jacket and drinking water for refilling your own bottle. It does not include admission to Louvre Abu Dhabi's art collections or exhibitions. If you want to explore the galleries afterward, purchase museum admission separately. This specific product is provided under the Sea Hawk Water Sports name, which is also associated with the Husaak Adventures brand. Sunrise and full-moon outings are separately scheduled experiences; do not assume this ticket can be used for any special session without choosing an eligible time slot. Water conditions and operator instructions govern the actual route.

About the attraction
Louvre Abu Dhabi was designed by architect Jean Nouvel as a museum-city where buildings, sky and the sea form part of the experience. The complex has 55 structures, including 23 galleries, arranged beneath and around a distinctive silvery dome. Its geometry contains 7,850 star shapes across eight layers, filtering sunlight into the shifting patterns described by the museum as its 'rain of light'.

A kayak makes the relationship between the building and the surrounding water easier to see. From this perspective, the roof seems to float above low, pale structures, while reflections change with the light and movement of the water. The guide can explain the architecture as you paddle, without turning the trip into an indoor museum visit. This is an architectural sightseeing activity, not a way to view artworks from a boat.
Who is it for
This tour suits first-time paddlers, couples, older children with their families and architecture enthusiasts who want a distinctive outdoor view of Louvre Abu Dhabi. It is particularly useful for visitors more interested in photography, design and a short guided activity than spending several hours indoors. Children younger than six cannot take part; those aged six to twelve must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Paddling and boarding require some physical ability, and the product is not listed as wheelchair accessible. If entering the galleries is your priority, choose a museum admission ticket instead.
What to expect
1. Arrive at Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island and locate the kayaking check-in outside the museum near the parking entrance. The supplier's instructions mention a kayak sign and a white tent. Follow the location information on your actual voucher in case the reception arrangement has changed.

2. Show your smartphone booking confirmation to the activity staff. The supplier describes a buggy or golf-cart transfer from check-in to the water-sports launch area; follow staff directions rather than trying to enter the museum galleries.

3. Receive a life jacket, kayak, paddle and safety briefing. A professional instructor explains basic paddling technique and the route. Most participants use single kayaks; family arrangements may differ according to the operator's allocation and availability.

4. Paddle with your guide along the permitted waterfront route while looking at Jean Nouvel's dome and the low museum buildings from the water. The amount of shade, the reflection of the dome and the parts of the complex visible will vary with weather and your booked time.

5. Return to the launch area at the end of the approximately 60-minute trip. Allow extra time to change clothes and walk back to your transport. Any later museum visit requires a separate admission ticket.
Before you go
The kayaking activity takes place at Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, not at the Louvre in Paris and not at an Eastern Mangroves kayak station. Tiqets identifies a meeting point outside the museum near the parking entrance, with a sign showing a kayak and a white tent. The current water-sports operator also provides location-specific instructions. Check your confirmed voucher and arrive approximately 15 minutes early for check-in and the briefing. The tour is not a private hotel transfer.

Wear comfortable clothes suitable for getting wet and bring a change of clothes, your own towel and a reusable water bottle. The ticket lists drinking water to refill your bottle, but not a supplied bottle. Changing facilities are described near the kayaking area. Wear the provided life jacket throughout the water activity and follow the guide's instructions. Children must be at least six years old; ages six to twelve need an accompanying parent or guardian. Guests who cannot board a kayak or paddle safely should ask the operator about suitability before booking.

This is an outdoor water activity. Wind, weather and sea conditions can require a different route, postponement or cancellation. Book a confirmed timeslot rather than relying on the museum's general gallery opening hours or on promotional mentions of full-moon trips. The Tiqets terms for this specific product allow free cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before the visit. If the operator cancels for safety reasons, follow the instructions supplied with your booking.
Reschedule and cancellation policy
Cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the activity.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy a museum ticket to join the kayak tour?
The booked kayaking check-in is outside the museum, and the product does not include gallery admission. Follow the outdoor meeting-point instructions. Buy separate museum admission only if you also want to see the art galleries.
Does this ticket include a full-moon kayaking session?
Not automatically. The operator offers specially scheduled full-moon outings, but availability depends on the exact date and option selected at checkout. A daytime booking should not be treated as a night-tour ticket.
Can I use a double kayak with my child?
The museum's general kayaking guidance mentions double kayaks for families, but availability and allocation depend on the operator and your selected booking. Ask ahead if a shared kayak is essential.
