Real marine life meets the imagined ruins of Atlantis.

Overview

At the Lost World Aquarium, you can look through enormous underwater windows at rays and schools of fish, then walk into chambers where light and sound bring the legend of Atlantis to life. Set inside Atlantis, The Palm, this is an indoor aquarium with an imaginative twist, designed for visitors who want to see marine animals without turning the day into a waterpark visit.

This standard day pass covers the aquarium's 14 immersive chambers, the Ambassador Lagoon, a self-guided Explorer Trail, projection-mapping experiences and live shows when scheduled. It is an admission ticket rather than a guided marine encounter. Swimming, diving, behind-the-scenes visits and the optional Interactive Trident are separate experiences, not included automatically.

The aquarium was formerly called The Lost Chambers; it reopened in October 2025 with a new name and a substantial redesign. If you remember the old attraction, expect familiar marine habitats presented with new storytelling and digital effects.

What's included

* Access to 360° projection mapping and live shows
About the attraction
The Lost World Aquarium reopened on 27 October 2025 after Atlantis transformed its earlier Lost Chambers attraction. The redesign brings together an Atlantis-inspired storyline, marine education and large-scale audiovisual effects across 14 themed chambers.

The Ambassador Lagoon is the centrepiece for many visitors. It provides a broad view of an aquatic habitat where fish and rays move around submerged architectural scenery. The aquarium's marine collection includes more than 65,000 animals representing hundreds of species. The immersive rooms offer a different kind of viewing: projection mapping, changing light and cinematic sound accompany the real tanks, rather than replacing them.
Who is it for
This is an appealing choice for families, couples and visitors who enjoy marine life, photography and immersive exhibitions. The self-guided layout means you can spend longer at the habitats that interest you. It is also a useful indoor activity during a visit to Palm Jumeirah. If your priority is waterslides, swimming alongside marine animals or a specialist tour with a marine educator, choose a different product. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
What to expect
Make your way to Atlantis, The Palm and follow the signs to The Avenues, where the Lost World Aquarium entrance and ticketing area are located. Show the digital or printed ticket at the entrance. Once admitted, explore the aquarium's chambers at your own pace; this is not a timed guided tour.

The route combines real aquatic habitats with themed spaces inspired by the mythical lost city. You can stop at the Ambassador Lagoon to watch marine animals swim across the large viewing area, then continue into rooms with 360-degree projection effects, sound and storytelling. The included Explorer Trail provides a self-guided way to engage with the exhibits.

Live mermaid performances are part of the attraction's current programme, though their times and availability can change. Plan your route around the show schedule if seeing a performance matters to you. An optional Interactive Trident can unlock additional effects, but that paid enhancement is not part of the regular day pass.

Leave time to revisit your favourite displays before exiting. Access to Aquaventure Waterpark, marine-animal interaction programmes and behind-the-scenes spaces requires a separately eligible ticket or upgrade.
Before you go
The aquarium is inside The Avenues at Atlantis, The Palm, at the outer end of Palm Jumeirah on Crescent Road. A taxi is a straightforward way to reach the resort; the Palm Monorail is another option. Drivers should follow current Atlantis signage for visitor parking and the shuttle to The Avenues. Do not confuse this aquarium with Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo at Dubai Mall.

The visit is self-paced, with no fixed minimum or maximum time inside before closing. Atlantis' general FAQ and the aquarium's dedicated website currently show different daily opening hours. Check the official aquarium page and the time printed on your booking immediately before travelling, especially if you want to see a live performance.

The operator says the aquarium is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Bring your ticket and photo identification if required, wear comfortable shoes and leave outside food and drinks behind. Families visiting with infants should check the operator's latest admission categories and stroller rules before booking.

This is a standard aquarium day pass. The Interactive Trident, exclusive guided visits and water-based animal experiences cost extra unless your booking explicitly includes them. Atlantis' published terms for direct admission are non-refundable, whereas the terms currently shown for this specific Tiqets ticket allow cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before the visit. The booking seller's confirmed terms govern changes to your particular purchase, so review them at checkout and contact the ticket seller rather than assuming direct-ticket rules apply.
Reschedule and cancellation policy
Cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the activity.
